WORK WITH ME
Virtual psychotherapy for adults in Missouri
Working Together
Psychotherapy begins with understanding what brings you here and what you would like to be different.
Our work is collaborative. We will identify the concerns that need attention, develop goals for therapy, and periodically consider what is changing and what may need further attention.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you need from therapy. Part of our work may be figuring that out.
My psychotherapy practice is entirely virtual and serves adults age 18 and older who are physically located in Missouri at the time of their appointments.
Areas of focus
People come to therapy for many different reasons. My areas of focus include:
Anxiety
Depression
Grief and Loss
Life Transitions
Stress
Relationship Concerns
Effects of Trauma
Women’s Issues
I also work with concerns related to:
Divorce · Infidelity · Infertility · Pregnancy, Prenatal and Postpartum Concerns · Non-Monogamy · Racial Identity · Self-Esteem · Spirituality · Identity · Systemic and Interpersonal Oppression
Concerns rarely occur in isolation. Anxiety may emerge during a life transition. Relationship difficulties may raise questions about identity or long-standing patterns. Grief may involve much more than bereavement.
We can begin with what is happening now and determine together what deserves attention.
How I work
I use an integrative, strengths-based approach to psychotherapy. This means I do not begin with the assumption that one therapeutic method is appropriate for everyone.
My clinical work may draw from:
· Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
· Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
· Feminist Therapy
· Narrative Therapy
· Multicultural approaches
· Polyvagal-informed approaches
· Somatic-informed approaches
These approaches are tools rather than a formula.
What we use—and how we use it—depends upon your concerns, goals, circumstances, preferences, and what proves useful as our work develops.
My role is not simply to apply techniques. It is to listen carefully, help you understand patterns and possibilities, offer clinical perspective, and work with you toward changes that are meaningful and sustainable in your life.

If I am not in your network, you may choose to pay out of pocket and seek reimbursement from your insurer when your plan includes out-of-network benefits.
Getting Started
1. Schedule a free consultation
Begin with a complimentary 15-minute psychotherapy consultation.
This gives us an opportunity to talk briefly about what brings you to therapy, what you are looking for, and whether my practice and availability appear to be a reasonable fit for your needs.

2. Decide whether to proceed
The consultation is not a psychotherapy session, and there is no obligation to continue.
If it appears that another type of service or clinician would be more appropriate for your needs, I will tell you.
If we agree that working together makes sense, we will move to the next step.
3. Complete your intake information
Before your first psychotherapy appointment, you will complete the required clinical intake and informed-consent materials.
These provide information about practice policies, privacy, confidentiality, fees, telehealth, and your rights and responsibilities as a psychotherapy client.
4. Begin psychotherapy
Your first psychotherapy session gives us more time to understand what brings you to therapy, relevant aspects of your history and circumstances, and what you would like our work to accomplish.
We do not need to figure everything out during the first appointment.
We need a useful place to begin.
Questions Before You Begin?
You may find the answer on the Questions About Psychotherapy page.
If you have a question specific to your circumstances that is not answered there, you are welcome to contact me.
Considering Psychotherapy?
You do not need to be certain that psychotherapy—or I—will be the right fit before scheduling a consultation.
That is part of what the conversation is for.
